I am a firm believer that wherever one lives or works, they have an
ethical obligation to give back to the community. Eight years ago, with
the help of my Housekeeper/Argentine Mother Marita, we began working
with a local children's soup kitchen of 136 children in an impoverished
neighborhood outside of Buenos Aires. Our primary goal was to make sure
that these children received the basics every month to sustain a healthy
life: veggies, fruit, rice, milk, and water on a daily basis and meat
at least once a week. We also commited to providing quality of life
necessities for the children: clean running water, propane for the
oven, cleaning supplies and many other practical items. In 2008, we partnered with Sarah Jones to create Ellos Tendran un Futuro, a non profit civil association in Buenos Aires, Argentina. www.etfamericalatina.org
